long black hair

The lady ran over to the kid that sat on the floor in front of JaeJoong.

"It's very impolite to do that," she scolded her child.

"Sorry mom," the kid frowned. "He won't take the sandwich from me," and stared back to JaeJoong.

"That's no reason to wave it in front of him," she continued. "What is your name, dear?" the lady turned her face to JaeJoong.

"JaeJoong, mam" he answered. Right away she reminded him of his mother in Gongju.

"Are you here alone? Where are your parents?" she asked.

"My... dad is somewhere around here," JaeJoong lied. Even though he was just waking up he still knew he shouldn't tell anyone he was alone.

"You poor thing, you must be cold," she cupped JaeJoong's face and sighed.

"Mom, can we take him home?" the little kid asked the lady.

"Yunnie, don't say that. He has a family, if we took him home his dad would miss him," she explained. "Would you like it if someone took you away from me?"

"No!" the little kid's head shook.

"Miss Jung! Miss Jung, there's someone whose really sick," a voice came across the bridge.

"I'll be right over," she shouted back. "Now Yunnie, you make sure and be nice to Jae..Joong, okay? Mommy's going to go over there. You stay here with JaeJoong, okay?" she patted her child on the head.

"Okay, mom!" the kid smiled.

The lady ran over to the other side of the bridge with her bag. JaeJoong still sat confused, trying to figure out what was happening. Who was that lady? Who was this little girl?

"You! Aren't you going to eat this?" the kid asked again.

"Thanks," JaeJoong took the sandwich. He felt dirty and wanted to wash his face before he puts the sandwich in his mouth. He looked around but couldn't see a fountain.

"What are you looking for?" the kid asked.

"I want to wash my face," JaeJoong explained.

"I know where you can do that!" the kid pulled JaeJoong by the hand and ran.

JaeJoong's legs were still asleep so he stumbled the first few steps. The kid pulled JaeJoong past a tree and into the park. The kid was really short, maybe stood up to JaeJoong's armpit. Height didn't stop the kid from out running JaeJoong. JaeJoong was the fastest runner in school, but due to his current physical and mental state, he was barely keeping up. JaeJoong's eyes didn't leave the little kid's black hair as it flew in the wind as they ran faster. JaeJoong's hand still held onto the little kid's hand. They finally came to a stop in front of a building.

"Where are we?" JaeJoong asked.

"That's the bathroom, you dork," Yunnie pointed to the door. "Come on!" Yunnie again pulled JaeJoong into the building.

In the bathroom were two sinks and a few stalls.

"Here, give me your backpack and go wash up," Yunnie ordered.

JaeJoong took off his backpack and gave it to Yunnie. And handed Yunnie the sandwich in his other hand. He walked up to one of the sink and turned the knob. Water splashed out of the sink and JaeJoong jumped backwards.

"Kekekeke," the little kid giggled at the sight.

"It's cold," JaeJoong told Yunnie as he tested the water with his finger.

"This is not a fancy hotel, ya know. It's only an outdoor bathroom at a park," Yunnie explained.

JaeJoong stuck his tongue out at the smart mouth and started to wash his hands and face.

"Can you eat your sandwich now?" Yunnie asked as they walked back to the bridge.

"I think so," JaeJoong said as he took his backpack from the little kid and swung it over his shoulder. "How old are you by the way?" he asked.

"I'm 12 years old," Yunnie replied handing the sandwich to JaeJoong.

"You're 12? You can't be 12! You're way shorter than me!" JaeJoong said.

"Yah! I'm not short!" the kid stopped walking.

"Okay, okay, you're not short. But you can't be the same age as me. How come you're so small?" JaeJoong asked.

"I don't know! God made me this way! You're the one that's abnormal! You're too tall for your age!" Yunnie argued.

JaeJoong was confused by this little kid. It's alright to be small JaeJoong guessed, since girls are smaller than boys, he thought.

They found a little bench and sat down. Since waking up from the cargo train, he hadn't met anyone he felt comfortable being with except this little kid. He was starting to miss his family and his friend. Every morning his mom would wake him up and pack him his rice and kimchi. Now, he had to eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. He craved for his mother's arms to be around him this moment. He started to feel tears in his eyes and tasted the salty liquid in his mouth. He took a bite of the sandwich hoping to fight back the tears. But it was too late. A stream of tear ran down his right cheek.

"You're crying?" Yunnie's little hand went up to JaeJoong's face. The small fingers wiped away his tears.

At that moment JaeJoong felt an urge to hug the little kid. He just wanted a hug for all that he's gone thru the last two days. Without thinking much about it he wrapped his arms around Yunnie and planted a kiss on Yunnie's cheeks, what he normally did to his mom before leaving the house.

"Yah!" The kid yelled.

"Huh?" JaeJoong let go and faced Yunnie.

"What are you doing?" the kid shouted.

"I'm sorry, I just ...." JaeJoong couldn't even finish his sentence.

"How could my first kiss be from a boy? What am I going to tell my girlfriends now?" Yunnie muttered.

"Girls are supposed to be kissed by boys!" JaeJoong explained.

"I'M NOT A GIRL! I'M A BOY!" the kid shouted.

JaeJoong's eyes almost popped out as he heard the words. "What? You can't be a boy! You look like a girl with your long hair. And your name is Yunnie!" JaeJoong explained.

"Yah! My hair is long because I am growing it out to donate it to my cousin who has cancer!" Yunnie explained.

"And your name..." JaeJoong moved in closer to examine the little kid's face.

"My mom calls me Yunnie. My real name is Jung Yunho. I'm a boy!" Yunho's yell woke up the birds nesting in the trees. One by one they flew away.
